Sending SMS
SMS for Online Stores: Which Notifications to Send and Which Templates You Need
An online store usually needs just a few types of SMS. Service messages are approved faster and can be sent around the clock; promotional ones are handled separately and only during working hours.
Service SMS (in response to a customer action)
- Verification code (OTP) — login, registration, payment confirmation.
- Order received — order number and amount.
- Order status — packed, handed to delivery, waiting at the pickup point.
- Delivery — time, courier name and a contact number.
Sample texts (variables are written in curly braces):
- “Your code: {code}. Do not share it. Store name”
- “Order #{order} received. Total: {sum}. Store name”
- “Order #{order} handed to the courier. Contact: {phone}. Store name”
Approval rules: it is clear who is writing and why, one action per message, delivery messages include a contact. More on templates: How to create a template and pass moderation.
Promotional SMS
Sales, discounts, new arrivals, “today only” — that is advertising. It can be sent only between 9:00 and 18:00 and only to a base where customers have given consent. More: Service and promotional SMS.
How to connect sending
